Welcome
Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:05PM This week, my family and I are on vacation. Nothing far-flung and exotic but something more close to home. Dan takes the week off from work, and we spend the days exploring off-the-beaten-path attractions around our community. Some days, we just stay home and enjoy the indulgence of having nothing to do. Other days we pack lunches and make a trek to some low-budget attraction.
Today we visited, of all places, a potato chip factory. With it's roots in our community, I'd been hearing of this place and their simple, but fascinating free tours since we moved here.
As we drove up the back roads to the factory, I had to laugh at my children's excitement in anticipation of our outing. I threw out the question, which I figured had a pretty obvious answer : Do you know what potato chips are made from? From the back of the car, someone suggested bread. Ah yes, the potato chip bread. This was going to be an illuminating morning.
But as we drove to our tour, I was reminded how much I love discovering and learning new things. Even more, I love being along for the ride as people find something new and exciting, or never before discovered. Not only do I enjoy sharing new things, I enjoy sharing in the excitement of discovering something new.
And while I'm confident that you know the true origins of the lowly potato chip (Which, by the way, warm? Straight out of the hopper? Is killer.), it is in that spirit of sharing and discovery that I finally decided, after much thought, to create this new space online.
I like to think of it as the little sister to MommyCoddle.
And while I know that there are blogs that review and curate on every corner of blogland, I had to decide if it was worthwhile for me to dip my toes in these waters again. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that yes, it was. And that when I did, I wanted it to truly be hand-picked and thoughtfully selected items that I would share in this space. So that instead of being one more of "those blogs", I could be a place where there is that excitement, and even fun, in discovering and sharing something new.
So welcome. Thank you for visiting here. Grab a cup of coffee, and an email subscription, to keep things easy, and enjoy.
I'll be back tomorrow with something to share. Yay.

A lovely little space, looking forward to seeing more here.
Ahh the potato chip factory! I've been in the area 11 yrs and have yet to visit, so I decided this winter when it's cold and grey out would visit there. I remember my Grandpa taking us on many a trips to different places to tour! He was always fond of the Free food/ drink at the end :) ha!!
How fun! I love it, can't wait to read what you've got to share.
Wow., Molly, this is so awesome. I cannot wait to see what you have to share... you are so smart and creative and inspiring, this space is bound to be something really special.

we have a week long vacation staying home this Thanksgiving and I've been muddled as to what to do, we don't usually take vacation at that time, but home turf exploration sounds like a good idea, thank you.
I love this idea!!! I'll be back often to read your handpicked "loves" ! :)
